This 8-day cuckoo clock depicts a traditional Black Forest house surrounded by a detailed woodland landscape in a light oak finish. Hand-carved fir trees, a squirrel, and the characteristic bell tower define the charming scene.
The model was extensively redesigned in 2026 and enhanced with numerous additional details. The exceptionally deep and intricate carvings create an impressive three-dimensional effect. Every tree, wood texture, and individual detail is carefully carved by hand.
On the hour, the door opens and the wooden cuckoo calls the corresponding number of hours. On the half-hour, the cuckoo calls once. As it calls, the cuckoo moves its wings and is accompanied by the traditional sound of a gong.
Despite its compact size, the clock produces a particularly harmonious cuckoo call and a rich, pleasant gong sound normally associated with considerably larger models.
The mechanical 8-day movement needs to be wound only once a week. A manual night shut-off allows the cuckoo call to be silenced whenever desired.
The dial, numerals, and hands are also made of wood. The chains and visible metal components are dark burnished. The light oak finish beautifully highlights the natural wood grain and gives the clock a warm and welcoming appearance. Finally, the wooden surface is refined with a high-quality spray wax coating.
All carvings are personally handcrafted and signed by Christophe Herr. This makes every clock a genuine, one-of-a-kind piece from the Black Forest.
